Guide for Attending Superzoo

Superzoo is less than two weeks away! Organizers and exhibitors are all working hard to bring you great resources and opportunities to grow your business, but with 1,200 vendors, 15,000 attendees, and a full schedule of seminars and contests, it can be overwhelming. As an attendee, you just need to be prepared to take full advantage of them. MyTime will also be exhibiting at Superzoo, and we’ve put together a brief guide to help you get the most out of the show.

Before the show

  • Write down your purpose of attending and what you want to achieve at Superzoo. Is it to meet new vendors, educate yourself on a new topic, or see the latest grooming trends? By making a list, it will help you make decisions that are centered around achieving these important goals.
  • Have a clear idea of your inventory needs before the show if you are looking to buy. Superzoo discounts and special offers can help you save some money. A lot of vendors release their new products at the show too. Get ready for various innovative products and services. But remember to set a budget!
  • Read through the Superzoo website carefully and use all the information you can find to make a plan. About 1,200 vendors will be exhibiting at Superzoo this year. Superzoo also hosts multiple Superzoo University seminar sessions and grooming contests at the same time. You need to prioritize your time on the most important things.
  • Make appointments with vendors you really want to see so you won’t miss them. Superzoo gives you a unique opportunity to discuss your ideas and concerns with vendors face-to-face. Spend a little time researching the vendors, and prepare a few important questions to ask them at the show.
  • Make detailed schedules based on your appointments, seminars, and browsing. Remember to allow extra time for distractions and delays. Get a map of the show floor and prioritize your route to save time and energy. Superzoo has thoughtfully provided a tool called “My Planner” on their website and a mobile app to help you plan your itinerary, navigate the show floor, and connect with vendors.

During the show:

  • Revise your plans based on the latest version of the trade show directory the night before the trade show starts. Refer to your schedule frequently at the show to stay on track. Also, be open to updating your plans every night as you gain more knowledge of new opportunities at the show.
  • Make sure to arrive early to avoid lines. Skip booths when they are packed. Make a note and come back later. The second day is usually less busy but don’t wait until the last minute on the third day — some vendors may have taken off by then.
  • Remember to check your jacket and bags so you don’t have to carry anything unnecessary while walking the show. Make sure to bring plenty of business cards and a small notebook. You can also carry a lightweight bag to collect materials but don’t accept everything that’s offered to you. Ask if vendors are willing to send brochures and product samples after the show.
  • Politely cut to the chase with vendors. Everyone at the show is on a busy schedule. They will appreciate being able to have a quality conversation and exchange valuable information in 15 minutes. Be specific, and get the information you need, especially if you are planning to purchase at the show. Jot down notes as you’re leaving the booth to remind you of the vendor and what was interesting to you.
  • Attend after-hour social events, such as the Superzoo Networking Reception on Tuesday night. Bring businesses cards with you but don’t talk too much business at these social functions. You should also actively use social media to connect with people you just met at the show and stay updated with your favorite vendors for coupons and special deals.
  • Spend some time every night on organizing your notes and materials while your memory is still fresh. Take advantage of Superzoo special offers and keep track of orders so you’ll stay within your budget.
  • Take good care of yourself so you can make the most of your time at Superzoo. Make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes and dressed for the heat. According to a previous attendee: the AC at the Mandalay Bay was no match for the body heat of over 15,000 attendees. Set an alarm on your phone to remind yourself to take a break, get some fresh air, and drink some water. Tradeshows can be overwhelming. If you don’t take regular breaks, you might exhaust yourself too fast.

After the show:

  • Follow up with new connections you made at the tradeshow.
  • Expect to receive literature and samples from vendors. Make a spreadsheet to record and compare products.

We hope you have a successful Superzoo and look forward to seeing you there.
