The Reitenbach institute of Taekwondo is San Francisco is the Bay Area's premier Olympic style training center! For over 42 years it has been building Olympic style champions one at a time. All of its programs, training and promotions are approved by the Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Federation and USA Taekwondo. Parents and children get an almost magical formula to build leadership, honor, courtesy, confidence, discipline, character, respect, focus, self-esteem, achievement, accomplishment, fun, health, fitness, coordination, teamwork, leadership or self-defense to prepare them in life, school, career or business!
Competitors get Olympic Sport Taekwondo training to compete in local, national and international competitions. Non-competitors get more self-esteem, stress reduction, fitness, improved health, self-defense and much more. Adults and seniors get systematic programs for living an active, age-defying and disease free life as a result they add years to their lives and save thousands of dollars in lifetime medical expense.

More importantly people at the Reitenbach Institute of Taekwondo engage in the activities that help improve their cognitive, social, and motor skills during the most important developmental stages of their lives. We offer programs that are a perfect activity that blends the advantages of both art and athletics. Better yet, Reitenbach Taekwondo provides participants with an equal opportunity to advance their skills since no one ever âsits the benchâ.
How we were trained
Grand Master Reitenbach is an 8th Degree Black Belt, served as Vice-President of the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Union from 1985-1992, 1997-1998, and the year 2000. He has owned and taught at the Reitenbach Institute of Tae Kwon Do for over 30 years and is also a physical education professor at the University of San Francisco. His 8th Degree Black Belt is certified through the World Tae Kwon Do Federation and Kukkiwon. He was a U.S. Army paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. Grand Master Reitenbach retired from the Army with 24 years of active service.
Master Sydney Reeser, a 7th Degree Black Belt, served as Chairperson of Public Relations of the United States Tae Kwon Do Union. Master Reeser dedicated herself to the full-time study of Tae Kwon Do in 1971 while she continued working at the San Francisco Presidio. In 1976, Master Reeser achieved a B.A. Degree from San Francisco State University and obtained her First Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. While graduating up to 7th Degree Black Belt, Master Reeser worked as a Chief Instructor at Hamlin School and Cathedral Boys School in San Francisco. In 1974 she began teaching full-time at the Reitenbach Institute of Tae Kwon Do while working as an Assistant Instructor at the University of San Francisco. She continues to hold these positions today.
