About Joseph Yuan School Of Music
I am a reputable violin instructor with a great track record in training all levels from talented young children to advanced students preparing for Juilliard auditions. While I am confident standing toe-to-toe with the top violin instructors in the country, I do not limit myself to conservatory level students. I have also accepted many students who are amateurs, who play for the love of music, including many students with physical handicaps as well. What my students love about my instruction, is that no matter who you are, whether you are a professional violinist or just someone who loves to play, I am committed to making you the best you can be.
What differentiates us
Few parents realize that the majority of commercial music schools open to the public in the United States would not be considered in any way acceptable compared to music schools in Europe and Asia. Due to the rarity of quality instruction in the United States, it is not suprising that many children pick up stringed instruments only to lose interest and quit playing because "it's too hard." It is an all too common story we've all heard before. What kids and their parents don't realize is it's not that violin and its ilk are "too hard." It's that they lack access to a special tier of teachers that generally only children of professional musicians or children of the extremely wealthy are able to take advantage of. These teachers and conservatories require children pass rigorous auditions just to be deemed worthy of the teacher's time.
In response to this inequality in teaching standards, Joseph Yuan started his school with the aim of offer the highest quality of instruction to the broader public. His students' ages range from two to seventy-eight, and their skill level ranges from beginner to Julliard aspirants to professional players who wish to raise their standard of playing and book more gigs. However, Joseph believes you do not have to plan to send your child to Julliard for your child to sound just as amazing as any Julliard student. Joseph will help your child cultivate the skills and passion necessary to enjoy the violin as a hobby that will enrich their lives.

Why we love what we do
I am the violin teacher I wish I had when I was growing up. Someone who is supportive, takes responsibility for your development, and makes sure that you progress further than you can with any other instructor or music school. I approach the lessons with a nurturing attitude, but my students, even the children are able to achieve the highest standards of skill, which helps them enjoying their own playing that much more.
