About Friends For Life Holistic Pet Training

I have been training dogs for over 15 years. When I started Friends for Life in 2000 I felt that people needed a less aggressive more natural way to communicate with our canine companions. My techniques are unique and easy for all members of the family to learn. I have created a style of dog training that harnesses the behaviors of dogs and their ways of learning, by using a series of commands that incorporate voice, body and energy to train, to teach people how to understand their own pets. As a result, I have helped hundreds of dogs and their owners with all types of behavior problems as well as training for Basic and Advanced Obedience.

My extensive experience consists of …

*Over 20 years horse training and care*

* Over 15 years working as a Veterinarian Technician*

*4 years as a Volunteer Dog Trainer for 4-H*

*6 years of Dog Training for Evergreen Park and Rec.*

*Business Partner with Inter Mountain Humane Society*

*Professional Member Of the IACP*

*Certified AKC Evaluator*

In-depth knowledge of...

*Canine Behavior*

*Natural and Homeopathic foods and supplements*

I also use Bach Flower Remedies for my clients to aid in behavior issues from separation anxiety to aggression.

Friends for Life also support the rescue of animals by extending a 20% discount to all adopted pets.

What differentiates us

I am the only Force free, "Purely Positive" trainer in the mountain areas. I do not use, nor advocate the use of choke, prong or electric collars for dog training.

How we were trained

I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer -Knowledge Assessed. This means I had to have a minimum of 600 hours accumulated in 3 years (I had over 2500 hours) , be supported by two local Veterinarians , ( have several who recommend my business ) and take a 250 question test through a certified testing agency. Passing score with at least a 195/250 (I scored 220/250) on my first attempt. I must accumulate Continuing education points over 3 years to renew my Certification. I have attended several seminars given by Master Trainers such as Dr. Ian Dunbar, and Grisha Stewart, as well as local area shelters such as The Denver Dumb Friends League. As a result learning Modern Training methods and Behavioral Modification for dogs.

Why we love what we do

Every time I see my people succeed with their dogs it brings me joy!
