About Harvard Square Shiatsu
Roger Wood is a Zen shiatsu practitioner and owner of Harvard Square Shiatsu established in 2003. Roger and his staff are highly skilled AOBTA certified shiatsu practitioners with over 500 hours of shiatsu training. Shiatsu is very effective for stress management as well as helping the body heal from injuries and many other stress-related conditions. We look forward to offering you a great shiatsu massage experience at a very affordable rate.
What differentiates us
Shiatsu is a unique form of bodywork/massage as we apply pressure along the body's energy pathways to move stagnant energy. By clearing the energy blockages the body returns to balance and heals itself. Shiatsu sessions are deeply relaxing and have an overall calming effect on the body and the mind. Receiving regular shiatsu sessions is an effective way to manage the stress in our daily lives and to stay healthy.
How we were trained
Our staff are graduates from the Boston Shiatsu School and the Charles River School of Shiatsu. Furthermore we received training by many leading Shiatsu/Tuina instructors ie; Pauline Sasaki, Cliff Andrews, Carola Beresforde-Cook, Bill Helm, Patricia Carusone and Kiku Miyazaki Zutrau,
Why we love what we do
People often come to receive shiatsu because they have alot of stress in their life or have bodily aches and pains. After shiatsu sessions people feel much happier, calmer and more connected to themselves and others around them. I feel very happy and fortunate to be able to offer such a valued body therapy as shiatsu and to see this transformation in my clients.

Roger seemed very honest, humane and most importantly he has the magic in his hands.
I came away so relaxed and energized. After a long day of traveling this was just what I needed. I will be coming back for more.

Professional, attentive. Targeted and specific which I liked; could tell he was paying close attention to my body and listening. Transitions beginning, ending, and during the session were abrupt which made me feel a bit awkward. Overall I really enjoyed the session and would book another in the future. I scheduled it for at home which I double checked that was correct on my confirmation email so that was a bit inconvenient I ended up having to go to his space last minute. Maybe not have it be an option online to schedule it that way if you don't do home visits. It was in the end worth coming out for so thank you for the excellent session.
Best Shiatsu massage to relief tension, stress and back pain.
