About Jeanne Hicks LAc
My name is Jeanne Hicks and I am happy to welcome you to my practice! I am a licensed Acupuncturist and Aesthetician and I am fortunate to have been a part of a wonderful community of Healthcare practitioners at Creekside Whole Health Center for the past 10 years.
I have enjoyed a busy general practice, treating many conditions such as renal disease, mental emotional conditions, chronic skin conditions, pain, neuropathies and infertility. I have had the pleasure of assisting in childbirth, and have supported patients on their journeys through cancer treatment.
As my practice has continued to grow through the years, I have been honored to have established long term relationships with patients who have allowed me to assist them in their healthcare needs. I have always felt the need to keep my practice as a general practice but in the past few years have been increasingly intrigued with how our health affects the body’s aging process. I have witnessed in my practice as well as in my own personal life, just how much impact that prescription medicine, stress and chronic illness has on the process of aging. I have also witnessed the dramatic improvements in my patient’s appearance when they are feeling better physiologically.
These intrigues lead me to increase my education in dermatology and anti aging, where I trained with nationally recognized Martha Lucas in the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System. In the summer of 2009 I decided to enroll in the Aesthetics program at Avenue Five Institute and I am proud to be one of the first dual licensed Acupuncturist and Aesthetician in the state of Texas!
I feel very fortunate to have the education and training to help my patients not only solve and improve their individual health conditions, but to now be able to help them work with their outside appearance as well. I now have the training and ability to offer the latest techniques to diagnose and treat dermatological conditions such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and eczema, as well as treat the root cause of those conditions with Chinese Medicine and Herbs. Martha Lucas stated in an article in Acupuncture Today, "Our medicine can create vibrancy and healthfulness inside that is reflected on the outside".
I look forward continuing to provide my patients with all their healthcare needs, whether their request is to heal chronic illness or pain, or to provide them with aesthetic services. I am honored to provide my patients with the tools to improve and maintain their health from within as well as on the outside.
What differentiates us
I am a perpetual student. I am always learning. I am currently back in school to pursue a Master's Degree in Nursing and become a clinical nurse practitioner. Because of my education, I am able to include western diagnostic techniques and help my patients find alternative methods to treatment when appropriate.
How we were trained
I received my B.S. from Northern Arizona University. I received my Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from Academy of Oriental Medicine and received my training in Aesthetics from Avenue Five Institute.
Why we love what we do
I have been passionate about plants and their powerful healing properties for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Scotland with wild Rhubarb and Stinging Nettles and have always loved to play in the dirt and watch the plants grow. I have been very fortunate to have trained with numerous acclaimed Herbalists such as Jeanne Rose and was taught the secrets to successfully grow and concoct my own herbal remedies.
