About Lu Acupuncture Center
Our mission is to support our patients in the healing process and help them achieve their wellness goals. We only use disposable needles and the highest quality of customized herbs for all our patients.
The most common health issues we have treated at our acupuncture clinic are:
acute/chronic pain, including cancer pain
premenstrual symptoms (PMS)
stress/depression or anxiety
Our clinic also offers tuina or acupressure treatment and massage therapy to our patients. When a new patient comes in, we will do a thorough diagnosis then provide a treatment plan tailored to the patient's specific needs. Diet, lifestyle and nutritional recommendations will be given to our patients to achieve a long lasting effect.
What differentiates us
We offer tuina or acupressure treatment by an acupuncturist to our patients. It is praised by our patients as "one of the best" in Austin and surrounding areas. We have a licensed massage therapist working with us at the clinic in case patients need it.
How we were trained
I am a Texas State Board Licensed Acupuncturist and herbalist and a nationally certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I obtained my Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin and internship at the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in China .
Why we love what we do
Prior to my acupuncture career, I earned a master degree in engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. My younger son was diagnosed with severe blood disease when he was 2 years old and was cured by the integration of conventional medicine with Chinese herbal medicine. I was inspired by the simplicity of the healing process of Chinese medicine and decided to pass this knowledge on to help other patients who suffer similar situations.
It is rewarding to see people who come in dejected and in some cases feeling hopeless, and leave with a new perspective. I think the greatest gift I can give someone is to create a space where people can begin to heal - mind, body and spirit. It is not only exciting and rewarding but also an honor to be a part of someone's healing process.
